🌸 Phalaenopsis Orchid Care Tips
Phalaenopsis orchids, often called “Moth Orchids,” are loved for their long-lasting, elegant blooms and minimal care needs. With just a little attention, they can thrive beautifully indoors and brighten any space.
1. Light & Placement
Place your orchid in bright, indirect light (near a window with sheer curtains is ideal).
Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
2. Watering
Water once a week during warmer months and every 10–12 days in cooler months.
Always allow the roots to dry slightly between waterings.
Never let the plant sit in water – drainage is essential.
3. Temperature & Humidity
Orchids love a comfortable room temperature (18–26°C / 65–78°F).
In hotel lobbies or air-conditioned rooms, place near a humidity tray or mist lightly to keep leaves fresh.
4. Feeding
Use a balanced orchid fertilizer once a month.
Dilute it to half strength to avoid overfeeding.
5. Bloom Care
Flowers can last for 2–3 months.
Once blooms fade, trim the flower spike just above a node to encourage new blooms.
6. Styling Tip
For homes, place on a dining table or windowsill.
For hotels/lobbies, group orchids together in decorative pots for a luxurious, welcoming display.
